Kids Academy Program
Kids Academy is a high quality child care and educational program administered by Family Service Association. It is licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care and accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children.
Who is eligible?
The program offers comprehensive services for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers from age 4 weeks to 5 years.
This exciting new program provides a total learning environment that supports the child’s personal development and promotes achievement of full potential in a nurturing and inclusive environment. We encourage self-confidence and self-respect in children through a solid arts-based curriculum that features age-appropriate activities, positive reinforcement, and consistent routines.
Kids Academy originated with the blending together of two of the area's most enduring and respected child care programs - King Philip Preschool and WORD Child Development Center. And in the summer of 2019, Kids Academy was launched - opening its new, spacious and well-equipped facility at 745 Wilson Road in the north end of Fall River.
Family Involvement
Families are encouraged to stay, and play! We provide families with daily reports, monthly newsletters, progress reports, family meetings/trainings, and on-going special events including Family-Teacher Conferences. We also encourage parents and guardians to regularly communicate directly with program staff.
Curriculum
With a concentration on talking, reading, and playing, children learn while enhancing their cognitive, physical, social and emotional development. For our toddlers and preschoolers, we’ve established a STEAM-based curriculum (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics) with a multi-sensory approach that incorporates key areas found in the Guidelines for Preschool Learning Experiences, developed by the Massachusetts Department of Education and The Creative Curriculum.
The foundation of our curriculum supports children through experience, interaction, and a solid routine. We also offer field trips to local farms, libraries and live arts performances. In this way, we foster creativity, problem-solving, team building, exercise and reasoning skills while giving children the opportunity to play and have fun.
All staff continually receive professional supervision and training, emphasizing developmentally-appropriate practices and strategies for children. In addition, they are CPR/First Aid certified.
