Employer Support Program
for ADA
This program is designed to assist companies and organizations whose workers who are having difficulties that may adversely affect their job performance. This program offers support to all employees, in several ways, and can effectively demonstrate that the company values all employee’s overall well-being in addition to their professional development, and offers a variety of services to support individual employees. By contracting with local companies to provide an Employer Support Program (ESP), Family Service Association provides a comprehensive package of employee training, Critical Incident Debriefing, expedited referral to counseling services at the Behavioral Health Center, and on-going consultation for supervisors and managers.
Who is eligible?
Companies and organizations who contract with the Employer Support Program may access the following services:
Services Provided
Employee Training. Our professional staff can provide mandatory training tailored to your organization, as well as legally required training (eg: Sexual Harassment)
Critical Incident Debriefing. This specialized service is provided to any group of employees who have experienced a workplace emergency, accident, work site death, robbery or any critical incident. This included all individuals who were involved in or who witnessed a traumatic incident. The debriefing is provided for the following purposes:
- To provide a professionally guided review of the impact of the incident on the person's life
- To enable ventilation of emotions
- To provide reassurance and support
- To educate about trauma reactions
- To advise on symptom management
- To minimize the potential for the development of psychological problems
- To assist the person to return to normal levels of functioning
- To identify individuals who may need additional counseling
Expedited referrals to our Behavioral Health Center, other agency programs, and/or outside services where applicable. Employees may access services directly, and all services are strictly confidential. Our Behavioral Health Professionals often address the following issues:
- personal issues job stress
- relationship issues
- eldercare, childcare, parenting issues
- substance abuse
- separation and loss
- balancing work and family
- family violence
On-going consultation to supervisors and managers. There may be times when the company leaders have an employee situation they have not previously encountered, and could simply use support or guidance. Any recommendations made would be consistent with company policies, and would be reviewed with additional company leadership as requested.
Critical Incident Stress Debriefing is a group process for all individuals who were involved in or who witnessed a traumatic incident.
