Volunteer Positions:

Volunteers provide valuable support and service to Family Service Association and its programs.  It is in part through the efforts of volunteers that our agency has been able to offer and maintain quality services.  Volunteers are required to undergo all applicable screening and placement procedures.  They must also receive routine supervision as part of placement and are subject to all agency policies with the exception of pay and benefits at the discretion of management.
Current volunteer positions available:
Family Service Association has established the Big Friends Little Friends program because children need the friendship of a concerned adult to help them reach their full potential.  We need volunteer mentors.  Adult mentors are men and women from all walks of life who are at least 18 years of age, and who have undergone a careful and thorough screening process.  Mentors are strongly encouraged to make a one-year commitment to share time with a child.

The Guardianship Program oversees the care and personal needs of adults who have been deemed mentally ill.  Many of the clients are elders.  The program is in need of interns and/or volunteers to assist the case managers with the clinical component of the program.  Duties would include assisting the assigned case manager with visits, reviewing medical records, light office duties, hospital admissions and discharges, placements at nursing homes and other facilities, medical certificates, funeral arrangements, issues involving personal and real property, and monitoring of personal needs. A background in mental health, nursing, or social work is helpful.  This is a great opportunity to gain credits for college courses.

If you have an interest in serving as a volunteer with Family Service Association, please fill out the On-Line Employment Questionnaire found HERE  .
