Big Friends Little Friends:
Family Service Association has established the Big Friends Little Friends program because children need the friendship of a concerned adult to help them reach their full potential.

Adult mentors are men and women from all walks of life who are at least 18 years of age, and who have undergone a careful and thorough screening process.  Mentors are strongly encouraged to make a one-year commitment to share time with a child.
Our "Big Friends" and their "Little Friends" enjoy lots of activities. They talk, laugh, play and just have fun! The young participants in our program are boys and girls from 7 to 14 years of age who are looking for the guidance that can be provided by an adult mentor in their life. Our adult participants are men and women aged 18 and older who are willing to share some of their time with a young person.
Interviews are conducted with the parent(s) of children referred to the program, as well as the child’s teachers, caseworkers and others to determine the best match.  Ultimately, mentors and children enjoy memorable experiences and the satisfaction of belonging to a program that helps young people choose the right paths.

Whether you're a young person in need of an adult friend or an adult who wants to make a difference in the life of a child, the Big Friends Little Friends program may be just what you're looking for.
