Home Assistance Programs:

The Home Assistance Programs offer daily assistance with the physical and social needs of elders and disabled adults living in designated housing units.  For persons at risk of institutionalization, the Home Assistance Programs (HAP) provide important community living options that recognize and preserve the independence and good health of persons requiring supervision.

Care is provided by Certified Nursing Assistants and other professionally trained caregivers.

Funded for program services is provided by the MassHealth

The Home Assistance Programs have several additional important service components: a Homecare component, providing services on a private pay basis; and the PCA component (Personal Care Attendant), with professional staff persons who train clients to interview and hire their own Certified Nursing Assistant.

In addition to the services described above, the Home Assistance Programs also provides needs assessments for a number of area housing authorities, evaluating residents and their individual medical and social needs.
